Comparative analysis, which involves the detection of similarities and differences, helps to activate the reading experience of students in order to comprehend the author's intention. The use of comparison in the educational process helps to see objects and phenomena from different angles. At present, the issue of comparing classical works with the texts of modern writers is becoming particularly acute, which led to our addressing this problem. The aim of the article is to study the works of literary critics on the problem of comparative analysis, to analyze the experience of using comparative analysis in literature lessons, and give a comparative analysis of literature textbooks.
